IN COOPERATION WITH UNITED NATIONS ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COMMISSION FOR WEST ASIA (ESCWA) AMAN CENTER ORGANIZES A WORKSHOP ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL PRINC

In cooperation with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) Aman Center organizes a workshop about the international principals for violence confrontation against Woman.

The workshop aims to acknowledge and inform the participants of the international principals for Violence confrontations, the national mechanism for that issue and the necessity of providing full details about family violence and its economic cost.

Highlighting the role of the national, Governmental and un-governmental authorities in the field of violence confrontation and the necessity of cooperation among authorities.

The workshop will be attended by experts from ESCWA, in which 25 social and psychological specialists from the centers affiliated with the Foundation will participate. The workshop will also be based on the methodology of combining theoretical and applied aspects.

Amal Al Mannai: We are keen to apply international standards in the services of our centers

Mrs Amal Bint Abdul Latif Al Mannai, CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work stated that the Foundation, within the framework of technical support and capacity-building, has sought for such programs and specialized workshops with UN organizations such as ESCWA to allow the employees of the affiliated centers, In order to identify the relevant international frameworks and mechanisms, particularly the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and the goals of sustainable development that are directly and indirectly related to.

 The responsibility of national sectors and how to deal with them in order to develop policies, strategies, legislation, and services in this regard.

She stressed that Qatar Foundation for Social Work and after the completion of the administrative organization of the centers during the past three years, is currently working on "building protection and rehabilitation systems in the centers (each according to its field and the targeted group of its services) through the adoption and application of centers under its umbrella to the international standards in providing its services For their target groups, in cooperation and partnership with concerned bodies such as ESCWA, which is what distinguishes our activities and services. She pointed out that the outputs and recommendations of the workshop will form a framework for the future through which the services provided to women can be strengthened.

Mansour Al-Saadi: The workshop is a focused application to ensure maximum benefit

Mr. Mansour Al-Saadi, Executive Director of Aman Center, said that the workshop is practical and interactive in order to ensure maximum benefit. Therefore, we were keen to involve Both Males and females in order to provide them with qualitative skills in the application of international standards and mechanisms in the field of violence against women.  also, he added that all the output of the workshop will form important aspects in National capacity to combat domestic violence, thereby strengthening the services provided by Aman Center for Women in the field of protection and rehabilitation.

Nour Alhor: Workshop discusses new topics

 Nour Al-Hurr, Director of the Rehabilitation Department at Aman Center, added that the workshop will raise new topics such as the economic cost of violence and the behavior of seeking survivors' support from violence. This will increase the culture of participants in this field. She added that the workshop was carefully prepared to ensure that its subjects and outputs In line with the needs of specialists in this field, which maximize the real benefit of the workshop.

The workshop will provide a clear framework for standards for multiple services that contribute to addressing violence, both through awareness-raising services and services to assist and protect survivors (safe line, shelters, security services, legal and social guidance).

The center looks after protection & rehabilitation of women and children who are victims of violence or break up , and reintegrating them in society. AMAN operates under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work.
